Back Story:
We’re a group of college classmates who have been friends now for over 3 decades. We all moved to different towns and countries, had our own families and careers, and only met infrequently once a year. Our friendship has evolved over the years but we’re still an integral part of each other’s lives, keeping in touch now on WhatsApp and FAcebook when we cannot meet in person.
Sharmila, the first of us to get married and have kids, became a grandmother for the first time in January 2022 and we were all as excited as she was! We’ve watched her older son grow up, and were ecstatic when he found a wonderful girl to marry. Sharmi becoming a grandmother was a huge deal for all of us and I wanted to buy a special gift for the first time I would see her in Chennai, India since she had become a grandmother.
